Provide and support immediate newborn transition and early postpartum recovery.

Facilitate and utilize informed decision making using trauma informed and culturally sensitive communication.
Navigate hospital systems confidently and collaborate effectively with a variety of medical providers to ensure a truly care-centered practice.
Supporting all births
Recognize, identify and interpret common complications and medical interventions while staying within your scope.
Support clients in developing informed, thoughtful birth plans and prepared for navigating providers, choices, and outcomes in a variety of settings
Maternal anatomy + physiology
Explain the physiology of pregnancy and birth in clear simple language that your clients can understand
About EPEC Doula Training
Our 50-hour Doula Training is a transformative learning experience rooted in core competencies that prepare aspiring doulas with skills, ethics, community-building and cultural responsivity. This workshop combines evidence-based education with practical insights, mentorship, and a strong commitment to the central values of knowledgeable and impactful doula support.

Tips for certifying through the Mass DPH, starting your own business, enrolling as a MassHealth provider, and integrating into our vibrant and diverse birth community
