2022 BACE+ ACCELERATED Childbirth Educator Training Workshop

By popular request, we are now offering The BACE+ Accelerated Childbirth Educator Training Workshop! BACE+ is designed for those with a solid understanding and background in pregnancy and childbirth. The course consists of 24 hours of in-class time (our traditional program is 40 hours over 10 weeks), group discussion, adult learning concepts, and presentation practice. This unique program provides mentorship in curriculum development and facilitation skills for teaching impactful, evidence-based childbirth classes and workshops.
To be certified, you will need to submit your childbirth education curriculum for approval. Once you've taught a certification series, and enriched your knowledge with continuing education credits, you will be recommended for certification through BACE (BCCE = BACE-Certified Childbirth Educator).

Course overview
The BACE+ Accelerated CBE Training Workshop offers:

Intensive instruction and discussion with experienced faculty members to support you in the curriculum design and development, rooted in evidence and depth of knowledge of maternity care systems

Practice and skill-building activities to increase teaching efficacy and impact for families you serve as an existent birth professional

A READY TO TEACH customizable curriculum and access to the library of images through The Educated Birth

Classes include
Three 8-hour sessions are made up of content review, curriculum development tips, and teaching techniques

Provision of resources and materials, with knowledge assessment of content for solid understanding
-
"Teachbacks:" practice facilitation sessions conducted twice during the course
-
Opportunities to gain insight from mentors, faculty, and co-participants
-
Access to exclusive Evidence Based Birth's Higher Ed modules

Qualifications
Class size will be limited to 8 people. Participants must meet the following criteria:
-
Current or prior experience as certified childbirth educator
-
RN with MCH background/experience
-
Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)
-
Certified birth doula, with minimum 50 births attended and current CEUs
Will consider other experience on an individual basis

Once your application and application fee have been received, you will be contacted for an interview with one of our approving faculty.

To certify
These requirements must be completed to achieve certification as a BACE-Certified Childbirth Educator (BCCE):

Tuition paid in full

Completion of all Google Classroom assignments
-
Approved outline and curriculum
-
Interviews with a midwife and a new parent
-
Completion of Certification Series, observed by your BACE Faculty Mentor
-
There is a $250 fee for observation of your Certification Series, due upon scheduling
-
Certification Series must be 12 hours, and include a minimum of 3 pregnant people

Costs
The cost of BACE Childbirth Educator Training Workshop and certification are as follows:

Application $70

Course $1600 for early registrants, $1700 within 30 days of workshop

CBE observation included in course cost

Certification series $250, due upon scheduling this series (observed by mentor)
